Would like to give a shout out to SJ Records in Stratford-upon-Avon who recently gave a small cash donation to Radio Warneford in exchange for some unwanted records of mine. They also offered me some free vinyl singles for us to play on Radio Warneford which I will do when the live shows are back up and running in our new studio soon. Once again, my thanks to the father and son team from SJ Records for your generosity 🙂. Stephen Height, Tuesday Team. ... See MoreSee Less

Radio Warneford
Today the day has come for us to say goodbye to our current studios, pack up our programmes, coil up our cables and carry them the short distance to our new home just the other side of Lakin Road. We’ve been broadcasting to and from Warwick Hospital for fifty years and nearly thirty from where we are now. In that time we’ve heard from hundreds of presenters and talked to literally thousands if not hundreds of thousands of patients, nursing staff, other volunteers and all of the NHS staff who’ve shared their memories, their life stories and of course countless song requests. By the bedsides, in the wards and in your homes we’ve connected with you for generations and we’re delighted to be continuing that from our new studios. So today we'd like to thank everyone at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust for finding us a new home that allows us to keep our close relationship with the hospital and all who spend time in it. In particular we'd like to thank Liz Waters, Mark Jones and James Walton who have worked closely with our teams to make this move possible, whose enthusiasm for the station and all that we do has been as passionate as our own. We'd also like to thank Sharon Elswood, Alison Moore and Amy Upchurch, Leigh Tranter and the Communications Team and of course Chief Executive Glen Burley for their continued support of Radio Warneford and for all volunteers here at Warwick Hospital. We also like give a shout out to our own engineering team who have made this transition possible. We hope to be pushing up the faders in just a few weeks but in the meantime, don’t forget that our programmes from the archives go out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on our website and media player. Our broadcasting teams will be ready and waiting to bring back their amazing request shows, special programmes and coming down onto the wards as soon as that on-air light glows red again. Look out on our social media platforms for details of our relaunch. And most of all we'd like to thank all our listeners wherever they tune in from for choosing Radio Warneford as we make our particular kind of radio for Warwick Hospital and the wider region. Without you, we simply wouldn’t have a reason to do what we do so we hope you’ll join us very soon as the story continues. We’ll be back for good before you know it 💙 ... See MoreSee Less

We’re almost ready to move to our new studios just across the road, but we have one more broadcast up our sleeves - the Sunday Team with the last live show from Studio One (above the Doctors' Mess) at 1pm today.Of course we’ve got some of our favourite music lined up for you, bubble wrap to pop, more getting to know The Team, the usual witty repartee etc, but if YOU would like to choose some music or say hello to someone, then get in touch on www.radiowarneford.com, or call us on 01926 401402 and we’ll free up some air time especially for you.So, join us for the Final Countdown at 1pm (we do have that song in our library if you want it).Bring scissors and packing tape.😊 ...
