Date: 15 June 2009 Dockers Diner Set To Stage Charity Music Event Dockers Diner at The Assembly in Spencer Street, Leamington Spa, is playing host to a special night of music on Thursday 2nd July. Four popular local acts will be performing at Radio Warneford's second Acoustic Night, a charity event with all proceeds going to help maintain the hospital radio service based at Warwick Hospital. The superb line-up features a variety of styles from the bluesy folk of our opening act, Banbury-born Ben Clempson, to the soul, folk and indie-rock influenced The Session from Coventry. Men In Caves, a Leamington three-piece who performed for Radio Warneford at our 35-Hour Marathon Broadcast in November 2008, are back to support the station again. A list of their influences include The Beatles, Nirvana, David Bowie and The Kinks. The evening ends with Canadian-born Clayton Denwood & his Band. Tickets for this fantastic night of first class music are available for just £5 and are selling fast. Email tickets@radiowarneford.com for more information or call us on (01926) 401402 (24 hrs) and leave your contact details. Our second charity music night has one again been organised by Nivi Morales. Nivi has been volunteering for Radio Warneford since autumn 2006. She is an active member of the Sunday evening team, where she participates in Request Shows and also presents some special programming of her own. Nivi believes this service provides entertainment and comfort to patients in hospital when they most need it. Nivi is also a loyal follower of the Warwickshire music scene and is totally convinced that charity gigs are a great way to promote the talent of the local musicians in a way that can also benefit the community. All proceeds from the Acoustic Charity Night at Dockers Diner will be used to maintain and improved Radio Warneford's service to patients and staff at Warwick Hospital. Radio Warneford is registered as a charity, no 507582.
